The US dollar exchange rate dropping to around 78 rubles in Russia has made international travel appealing once again for Russian tourists. With the improved exchange rate boosting purchasing power, Türkiye has emerged as the top choice.
According to a report by Türkrus.com, citing Business FM, the strong ruble is making it easier for Russian tourists to plan their vacations. Antalya, in particular, remains a favourite thanks to its large number of direct flights and a wide range of hotel options.
Following Türkiye, the next most popular destination is Egypt. The all-inclusive concept, the convenience of direct flights, and significant summer discounts help make Egypt an attractive choice. Despite summer temperatures reaching up to 50°C, the United Arab Emirates ranks third, thanks to reduced prices in luxury hotels. Another popular destination on Russian travellers’ radar is the Maldives. Off-season discounts have shifted interest toward this tropical paradise as well.
The strengthening ruble has reignited demand for overseas travel among Russian tourists, with Türkiye expected to benefit the most from this renewed interest.
