Regional Tensions: SunExpress Suspends Flights

SunExpress has announced the suspension of its flights to Beirut and Erbil until December 17, 2024, citing security concerns due to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and escalating tensions in the region. The airline emphasized that the uncertainty in the area poses significant risks to flight safety.

Regional Conflicts Disrupt Air Travel

Israel’s strikes on Gaza and Lebanon have severely impacted air travel in the Middle East. Due to security concerns, many airlines have temporarily halted flights to these regions. In line with these measures, SunExpress suspended its services to Beirut and Erbil. The airline stated that flights will be reassessed once the situation becomes secure.

Tel Aviv Flights Also Suspended

The announcement also included the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, not just Beirut and Erbil, with flights halted until further notice due to safety reasons.

Widespread Cancellations in the Aviation Industry

In addition to SunExpress, Turkish Airlines (THY) and Pegasus Airlines have also suspended their flights to Beirut due to safety concerns. The international aviation sector is taking heightened precautions to ensure flight safety amid the instability in the region.
