Antalya is preparing to conclude the 2024 tourism season with great success. Hakan Saatçioğlu, President of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD), announced that the number of foreign tourists visiting Antalya has surpassed 15 million.
Antalya Tourism Reaches New Heights
Speaking at POYD’s traditional monthly meeting held in the Belek Tourism Center, Saatçioğlu stated that as of October 16, the total number of foreign tourists arriving at Antalya and Gazipaşa airports reached 15 million. Describing this as a highly successful season, Saatçioğlu noted a significant increase compared to last year.
Among the top tourist-sending countries, Russia led the way with 3.25 million visitors, followed by Germany with 2.75 million, the UK with 1.3 million, and Poland with 1.1 million tourists choosing Antalya as their destination.
2024 Target: 17 Million Tourists
Saatçioğlu expressed confidence in reaching the goal of 17 million tourists by the end of the year, emphasizing that Antalya continues to be a globally preferred destination. He also noted a 7% increase in the number of foreign tourists.
Digital Transformation in the Tourism Sector
During the meeting, Fatih Tenel, Sales Director at Protel, gave a presentation on software and cloud solutions that support sustainability efforts in the hospitality sector. Tenel highlighted the crucial role of digitalization in the hotel industry.
