Şamil Tayyar from the AK Party (AKP) expressed his frustration on social media over the prices and delays experienced with Anadolu Jet (AJet).
Discontent Among AKP Members
Issues with Anadolu Jet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY), have started to draw criticism even among AKP members since its transition to an independent company.
“The Plane Was a Success Story Proudly Told by AK Party Members”
In his social media post, Şamil Tayyar stated: “In the past, only the rich, landlords, and gentlemen would fly. It was also a class distinction. We used to listen to the stories of air travelers as children. Yeşilköy (Atatürk) Airport was a staple setting in Yeşilçam films. Years later, during the AK Party era, planes became accessible to the masses, and in some places, plane ticket prices fell below those of buses. To put it metaphorically, both the landlord and the peasant became regulars on the same aircraft.
This development, which blurred the sharp distinctions between classes and spread comfort in transportation to the base, was a success story proudly told by AK Party members.”
Issues with AJet
Tayyar’s post highlighted the problems that have arisen since AJet became an independent company, notably increasing delays and rising prices. These issues negatively affect the comfort experienced by the general public in transportation, causing dissatisfaction among AKP members.
Broad Impact on Social Media
Tayyar’s criticisms resonated widely on social media, with many users voicing similar complaints about the issues caused by AJet. These reactions are putting pressure on the company to improve its service quality.
Debates on Flight Comfort and Accessibility
The problems caused by AJet have reignited discussions about flight comfort and accessibility, with AKP members openly expressing their displeasure with the current situation.
