PSG Plane Tilted Sideways During Landing! Pilot’s Last-Second Move Prevented a Crisis

The aircraft carrying the PSG delegation to Bilbao was forced to make a sudden corrective manoeuvre during landing due to severe turbulence and strong winds. No injuries were reported, and the team continued preparations as planned.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) experienced a challenging moment during their flight to Bilbao on Tuesday (9) for their Champions League clash. Arriving in Spain ahead of Wednesday’s (10) match against Athletic Bilbao, the delegation encountered severe turbulence while approaching the airport.

Strong winds and a low cloud layer around Bilbao Airport made it difficult for the aircraft to approach the runway at the correct angle. The pilot made a swift last-minute correction to stabilise the aircraft and avoid a risky landing. It was reported that the PSG plane tilted sideways, prompting the captain to perform a powerful acceleration manoeuvre to correct the course.

Passengers stated that they felt a brief moment of imbalance during landing, while all onboard systems were reported to be functioning normally. No injuries occurred among the players, technical staff, or crew.

The club confirmed that they had been warned about adverse weather conditions before departure from Paris at 11:14 local time. Throughout the day, strong winds and low visibility had triggered widespread weather alerts across the Basque region. Airport officials noted that many flights in the area were similarly affected, although no material damage was reported.

Following the nearly two-hour flight, the PSG delegation reached their hotel without significant delay despite the turbulence. The team continued to focus on their scheduled adaptation training at San Mamés ahead of the match.
