Pegasus Airlines has released its traffic and environmental performance data for May 2025. According to the figures, the company achieved double-digit growth in passenger numbers, seat capacity, and flight operations both for the month and for the first five months of the year.
3.62 Million Passengers Carried in May
In May 2025, Pegasus transported a total of 3.62 million passengers, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. The total number of passengers carried from January to May reached 16.10 million.
The total number of flights (landings) rose by 14% to 19,992 in May, while seat capacity increased by 17% to 4.22 million. Available Seat Kilometres (ASK)—calculated by multiplying the average flight distance by total seats offered—also grew by 18%, reaching 6.738 billion kilometres.
Domestic and International Performance
Domestic passenger numbers in May increased by 10% to 1.31 million, while international passenger numbers rose by 17% to 2.31 million. The notable rise in international traffic reflects the success of the airline’s growth strategy in global markets.
ASK was recorded at 1.100 billion km for domestic flights and 5.637 billion km for international flights.
Slight Decline in Load Factor
The total load factor in May stood at 85.9%, representing a 1.6-point decrease compared to the same month last year. For the January–May period, the load factor remained at a sustainable level of 86.2%.
Passengers Per Flight Remained Stable
The average number of passengers per landing was 196 for domestic flights and 174 for international flights.
Sustainable Flight Initiatives from Pegasus: CO₂ Emissions Continue to Fall
In addition to operational growth, Pegasus Airlines continues to report positive outcomes in environmental sustainability. The airline achieved lower CO₂ emission intensity (gCO₂/RPK) in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
May 2025 Emissions: 57.8 gCO₂/RPK
In May 2025, Pegasus recorded a carbon emission intensity of 57.8 grams of CO₂ per Revenue Passenger Kilometre (RPK), showing a marginal decrease from 57.9 gCO₂/RPK in May 2024.
The January–May average was 57.2 gCO₂/RPK, reflecting an improvement over the same period in 2024 (57.9 gCO₂/RPK). This progress is attributed to the use of a younger fleet and enhanced operational efficiency practices.
