Passage Journeys has entered the premium escorted travel market with the launch of its first collection of small-group itineraries for 2027. The new company, part of the Certares Management family of travel brands, has opened reservations for expert-led journeys across Europe and Asia designed for travelers seeking immersive cultural experiences.
Departures will average approximately 24 guests.
“Travelers today have access to virtually every destination on earth, yet many are searching for something more meaningful from their experiences,” said Kristen Cash Dennison, General Manager of Passage Journeys, in a press statement. “Passage Journeys was created in response to that shift.
“Our journeys are curated alongside renowned cultural authorities whose lifelong relationship with a destination brings an entirely different dimension to the experience. It’s one thing to visit a destination; it’s another to explore it through the lens of someone who has spent decades interpreting its stories, traditions and complexities. That depth of insight often becomes the most memorable and transformative part of the journey,” Dennison added.
Expert-Led Cultural Journeys
The inaugural lineup features five itineraries across Europe and Asia, each developed with a recognized expert who provides historical, cultural or culinary context throughout the journey.
Highlights include The Pursuit of Happiness in Bhutan, a 13-day itinerary created with author Eric Weiner that explores Bhutan’s philosophy of happiness through monastery visits, local encounters and Himalayan landscapes. Departure dates are set for October 2027.
The Soul of Japan – Living Like a Local, developed with essayist Pico Iyer, offers a 13-day exploration of Japan’s cultural traditions, craftsmanship and everyday life. Departure dates are scheduled for March, October and November 2027.
History enthusiasts can join History and Heroes of Normandy, a 9-day itinerary led by historian, author and educator David Eisenhower that examines the legacy of D-Day through visits to key battlefields, memorials and historic sites. Departure dates are set for July and August 2027.
In France, travel expert Joseph Rosendo curates The Living Provence, a 9-day journey highlighting regional cuisine, historic towns and local traditions. Travel dates are scheduled for April, August and September 2027. Rounding out the collection is Florence at the Table, a 9-day culinary program with award-winning writer, photographer and author Carla Capalbo that explores Italy’s food, wine and cultural heritage. This itinerary is scheduled for March, October, November and December 2027.
