Senior management structure reshaped at ISG, one of Europe’s fastest-growing airports
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport is entering a new corporate restructuring process aimed at strengthening its senior management and technical leadership structure. Within the scope of the restructuring, the Executive Director position has been reactivated, while the position of Chief Technical and Projects Officer (CTPO) has been established.
As Türkiye’s second-busiest airport and one of Europe’s fastest-growing airports, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport is supporting its strong operational performance with a new corporate structure. Having surpassed a historic milestone by reaching 48.4 million passengers in 2025, ISG is entering its new growth phase with a stronger governance and technical leadership structure.
Operating as a strategically important international airport under Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), ISG has concluded the Management Committee structure, which had played a key role over the past year in ensuring continuity and operational resilience. A new leadership model based on more clearly defined management responsibilities, simplified decision-making processes, and strengthened corporate alignment has been implemented. Within this framework, the Executive Director position has been reactivated, while the Chief Technical and Projects Officer (CTPO) position has been established.
Executive Director position reactivated
As part of the new restructuring, the Executive Director position has been reactivated. Accordingly, Hanita Ahmad has been appointed as Executive Director and Member of the ISG Board of Directors, while also continuing her role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Hanita Ahmad, who joined ISG in June 2025 through an assignment from Malaysia Airports, has played a critical role throughout her tenure in strengthening governance integration, enhancing shareholder alignment, and improving institutional coordination between MAHB and ISG.
With many years of experience in financial transformation, strategic leadership, governance, and international partnerships, Ahmad will lead corporate performance management, stakeholder relations, governance effectiveness, and the implementation of strategic objectives in her new role. Ahmad will also continue to play an active role in further strengthening the integration process between ISG and MAHB.
Technical capacity and infrastructure management strengthened through the CTPO position
In line with ISG’s growing operational structure and long-term infrastructure goals, the position of Chief Technical and Projects Officer (CTPO) has also been established. Levent Çelik has been appointed to this role, with the new structure aiming to manage engineering, technical services, infrastructure management, capital projects, occupational health and safety, and quality assurance processes in a more integrated manner at the corporate level.
Under the leadership of Levent Çelik, who has extensive experience in technical operations, infrastructure management, asset lifecycle management, occupational health and safety, and project execution, ISG aims to further strengthen its future capacity expansion, operational resilience, and strategic infrastructure preparedness. The new restructuring is expected to accelerate ISG’s future growth opportunities, particularly terminal expansion works and large-scale infrastructure projects.
