Corendon Airlines has announced that it has started direct flights from Warsaw to Heraklion, one of the most popular regions of Crete. Within the scope of the ITTF Warsaw Tourism Fair held at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw between 20–22 November, Corendon Airlines shared a significant expansion in its flight network for the 2026 summer season. This route is a strategic step complementing Corendon Airlines’ Katowice–Heraklion connection.
Planned to meet the increasing interest of Polish passengers in Mediterranean holiday destinations, Heraklion, the capital of Crete, stands out as one of Europe’s most preferred holiday centres with its wide beaches, historical riches, and strong accommodation infrastructure.
Corendon Airlines executives emphasised that Warsaw is a strategically important market for the company and stated that the new route is an important part of their stable growth strategy in Poland. The airline noted that it will continue to maintain and improve its existing popular holiday routes and that demand is increasing each year.
Halina Strzyżewska, Corendon Airlines Poland Sales Manager, made the following assessment about the new route: “We are very pleased to announce our direct flights to Heraklion. This route strongly complements our flight network to Greece. At the same time, it offers an excellent option for passengers wishing to make use of the May holiday. Poland continues to be a strategic market for us. As of 2027, we plan to establish an operational base in the country; this will further strengthen Corendon Airlines’ presence in Poland.”
With the start of the new flights, competition is expected to increase on tourist routes between Poland and Greece. The flights will be suitable both for package tours organised by tour operators and for passengers planning individual holidays. The Warsaw–Heraklion–Warsaw route will operate between 25 April and 31 October 2026.
