The Boeing 777 is a popular long-haul widebody workhorse that can be found on an interesting variety of one-stop intercontinental routes. According to present scheduling data made available by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, the very longest of these in 2026 clocks in at a top scheduled end-to-end block time of 29 hours, with all of the top 15 on this front penciled in to take 19 hours or more.
In this article, we will take a closer look at these ultra-long-haul one-stop twinjet odysseys, the airlines operating them, and the direction in which they are at their longest. It is worth noting that some of these arrangements are more temporary affairs, dictated by external factors such as conflict and airspace closures. Even so, they still make for interesting examination, even if flying on them might be too much.
China Eastern Airlines sits at the top of the pile on this front, with its relatively new route from Buenos Aires (EZE) back to Shanghai (PVG) via Auckland (AKL) topping out at 19 hours. This puts it comfortably ahead of British Airways from Sydney (SYD) back to London Heathrow (LHR) via Singapore (SIN) in second and Singapore Airlines from Singapore Changi to New York (JFK) via Frankfurt (FRA) in third.
These routes respectively top out at 24 hours and 25 minutes and 24 hours and 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Air Canada’s route from Toronto (YYZ) to Sydney via Vancouver (YVR) ranks fourth, topping out at 22 hours and 55 minutes, while passengers flying with Emirates from Dubai (DXB) to Bogota (BOG) via Miami (MIA) can expect a maximum duration of 22 hours and 25 minutes. China Eastern said of its new route:
“Having obtained the fifth freedom rights, China Eastern Airlines can handle passenger and cargo transfers in Auckland without aircraft change, facilitating trade among China, New Zealand, and Argentina.”
Sixth place is also occupied by a westbound one-stop Emirates Boeing 777 route out of its main hub at Dubai International Airport, namely the corridor to Mexico City (MEX) via Barcelona (BCN), which tops out at 22 hours and 15 minutes. This puts it an hour ahead of seventh-placed San Francisco (SFO) to Delhi (DEL) via Kolkata (CCU) with Air India, which takes up to 21 hours and 15 minutes in 2026.
While San Francisco and Delhi are a distant city pair anyway, this route is especially long at the moment due to the need for Air India to avoid airspace in both Pakistan and the Middle East due to conflicts. It sits just ahead of Qatar Airways’ new route from Doha (DOH) to Caracas (CCS) via Bogota, which tops out at 20 hours and 50 minutes. It then returns nonstop from Caracas to Doha as a triangular route.
Sitting in ninth place, it takes up to 20 hours and 15 minutes for Qatar Airways to fly its Boeing 777s from Auckland back to Doha via Adelaide (ADL). Meanwhile, two corridors jointly occupy tenth place, with a maximum duration of 20 hours and five minutes. These are Delhi to Toronto via Vienna (VIE) with Air India (due to airspace closures) and Dubai to Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro with Emirates.
The record-breaking flight experience pushes the boundaries of endurance and comfort.
Another Air India Boeing 777 route that now has to make a stop due to the challenges posed by airspace closures is Mumbai (BOM) to Newark (EWR). These flights presently pause in Rome (FCO), resulting in a maximum block time of 19 hours and 40 minutes. This puts them just ahead of Singapore Airlines’ 19-hour and 35-minute flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Singapore Changi via Tokyo Narita (NRT).

The last Air India route on this list is the return leg of the route from Toronto back to Delhi, which works as a separate entry due to its stop not being in Rome like the outbound leg, but, rather, in Kolkata. These flights take a maximum of 19 hours and 25 minutes, while flyers on EVA Air’s Boeing 777 flights from Taipei (TPE) to London Heathrow via Bangkok (BKK) can expect a maximum duration of 19 hours.
