Technical Malfunction on SunExpress Aircraft at Antalya Airport
The Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft, registration TC-SOB, preparing to operate SunExpress’s Antalya–Gaziantep flight, experienced a technical malfunction while taxiing at Antalya Airport.
According to obtained information, on 13 February, the aircraft, which was heading toward the runway threshold for flight XQ7646, had its left main landing gear fold and collapse for an as yet unknown reason. Due to the landing gear malfunction, the aircraft’s left engine came into contact with the concrete surface.

Passengers Evacuated, Flight Operated with Another Aircraft
After the pilots noticed the situation, the aircraft was safely stopped. Fire crews were dispatched to the area as a precaution against a possible emergency. Passengers were evacuated via stairs positioned next to the aircraft and taken to the terminal.
In a statement by SunExpress, it was noted that passengers were safely disembarked and that the Antalya–Gaziantep flight would be carried out with a different aircraft.

In an information note issued by SunExpress management, it was stated that a technical malfunction occurred in the landing gear strut during taxi on flight XQ7646, that passengers were safely evacuated, and that the aircraft was taken for technical inspection.
The statement also confirmed that no passengers or crew were injured in the incident.

Technical Investigation Initiated
A technical investigation has been launched by the relevant units to determine the cause of the malfunction on the aircraft. It has been learned that the aircraft has been taken into maintenance.
