Later this year, New York hometown airline JetBlue will roll out its new ways to book flights with the addition of its BlueFirst product. This will be complemented by a range of fare options that add additional flexibility or inclusions to match travel needs and budgets. This new shopping experience comes as the airline introduces BlueFirst, the airline’s new first-class cabin for domestic travel.
JetBlue will roll out BlueFirst seating later this year, which will debut on domestic aircraft. As part of this introduction, the airline is also renaming the core economy experience to Main, a common term used by most major US airlines.
JetBlue is creating a more intuitive way for customers to book flights, with easy-to-compare onboard experiences with the right fare option for a customer’s preference. Set to roll out in the coming days, customers will see a change to the airline’s booking platform, with the move to the four onboard experiences: Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst, and Mint. These define various seating areas, onboard amenities, and onboard experiences.
When selecting the fare type, additional flexibility, carry-on baggage, seat selection, cancel or change fees, refundability, and traveler points are offered on a range of tiers to suit the traveler’s budget. This improved shopping experience will set the stage for the eventual rollout of the new BlueFirst cabin, which will debut on domestic aircraft later this year. Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, explains:
“With the introduction of BlueFirst and our recently improved EvenMore experience, we want to make sure customers can easily find the JetBlue experiences they are looking for. In two simple clicks, customers will be able to book what’s right for them. First, the onboard experience, and then the fare option depending on their preferences around seat selection and refundability.”
Choose Your Own Experience With Four Cabin Types
When booking your next trip with JetBlue, the four experiences offer a range of different inclusions, with the Main cabin (economy) offering the signature JetBlue onboard experience, including free high-speed Fly-Fi, seatback entertainment, and complimentary snacks and drinks. EvenMore, the premium economy experience offers additional legroom and priority security (where available), dedicated overhead bin space, priority boarding and additional onboard inclusions.
BlueFirst, the airline’s new domestic first-class experience, will feature on all non-Mint aircraft and routes, on aircraft including the Airbus A220, A320 and A321. These seats will be retrofitted onto around 20 aircraft each month from October, and the new cabin will see physical seat upgrades, with premium Recliner Seats courtesy of Collins Aerospace MiQ, no middle seats, and an elevated onboard experience with upgraded dining options, lounge access, and priority check-in, boarding, and baggage.
The existing Mint product will remain unchanged; this award-winning premium experience that features lie-flat seating and elevated dining remains on select routes and aircraft both domestically and internationally. What will change is the fare options, which provide three different choices based on the flexibility required.
The carrier is renaming its Even More Space seats near the front of the plane and adding perks, including priority security and early boarding.
Additional Flexibility With Three Fare Options
JetBlue’s new fare options will go live in the coming days, providing customers additional flexibility at a cost. The ‘Base’ fare will be the lowest available fare, which does not include seat selection, and cancellations would only receive a travel credit (less any applicable fee). Standard will have additional inclusions and no change fees, while Flex is the most flexible with additional inclusions. A full breakdown can be found in the table below:

Customers with existing bookings will remain unchanged, with existing benefits available under the terms associated with their current booking. TrueBlue Mosaic and JetBlue cardholders will also continue to receive their existing benefits.
The excitement for JetBlue to roll out its new cabin offerings is set to provide more choice for premium customers when traveling domestically in the United States, and Simple Flying will be keeping a close eye on these aircraft as they are retrofitted with the new elevated cabin types.
