Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen ISG Breaks Record with 4.7 Million Passengers

Sabiha Gökçen Airport hit a historic record with 4.7 million passengers in August 2025, becoming Europe’s fastest growing airport.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG) reached the highest monthly passenger traffic of all time in August 2025. The airport hosted a total of 4,699,318 passengers, including 2,114,900 on domestic flights and 2,584,418 on international flights.

Europe’s “Fastest Growing” Airport

According to the August 2025 Airport Traffic Report by Airports Council International (ACI) Europe, ISG grew by 21.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, becoming the fastest growing airport in Europe in the “Major Airports” category with a capacity of over 40 million passengers.

Continuing its steady growth in the first 8 months of 2025, ISG recorded the highest passenger increase in Europe with a rise of 13.3%. In the same period, it reached 31.2 million passengers and rose to the position of Europe’s 9th busiest airport.

Expanding Its Global Network

As of today, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport offers flights to a total of 149 destinations, including 39 domestic and 110 international routes across 53 countries. ISG continues to be one of Turkey’s largest “entry” and “connection” hubs, providing millions of passengers with convenience and comfort, further strengthening Istanbul’s position in global aviation.
