Last Friday in the city of Bengaluru, India’s first indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (Drone) FWD-200B produced by Flying Wedge Defense and Aerospace Technologies, one of India’s defense and aerospace companies, was unveiled. This new Drone, weighing only 100 kilograms, garnered attention, sparking discussions on its design across social media platforms.

Features and Descriptions
The FWD-200B stands out as a Drone entirely designed and manufactured in India. Suhas Tejaskanda, the founder of Flying Wedge Defense, stated regarding the features of the Drone : “The Drone is designed as the country’s eagle eye and a shield against threats with 12-20 hours of endurance, a maximum speed of 200 kts/370 kmph, and a range of 200 km from the ground control station.”

However, the appearance and payload capacity of the Indian-made Drone became a subject of ridicule on social media. Users particularly compared its design and size to Baykar’s Drone , the Bayraktar TB2. Some comments included statements like, “It looks more like a thermos. Indian aesthetics are a disaster. Seeing this drone made me crave baked potatoes. I thought it was a Zeppelin, didn’t I? Like a Bollywood movie, far from reality.”

Alongside these mocking comments, many users recalled the features of the Bayraktar TB2. The Bayraktar TB2 stands out as a Drone developed by Turkey and is in the inventory of many countries.
