In a written statement today, the Air Traffic Controllers Union (HTK-Sen) announced, “We have decided to end our work activity without taking initiative as of today.”
HTK-Sen’s statement included the following: “As is known, our work activity without taking initiative, which we started approximately 2 months ago in line with the personal rights of our air traffic controllers and the interests of our country, has raised significant awareness among the public. Ultimately, our President has instructed that the issue be resolved. Following high-level meetings and contacts with officials, we received guarantees from the relevant ministries and authorities that a legislative effort concerning aviation compensation will be placed on the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in October and will be enacted into law. While this is a positive development, taking concrete steps in the area of institutional restructuring, which is the essential solution to the problem, is of great importance.”
