Roketsan’s $3 Billion Defence Move: Türkiye Enters a New Era in Missile Production

Major Move from Roketsan! $3 Billion Facility Launched

Roketsan has commissioned new production facilities with an investment of $3 billion. The project, which strengthens Türkiye’s missile and defence capacity, has been described as a “historic investment.”

Strategic Production Move from Roketsan

Roketsan, one of Türkiye’s leading defence industry companies, has put new production facilities into operation to increase its missile production capacity.

The facilities, inaugurated in Ankara, aim to accelerate high-tech manufacturing in the defence industry.

$3 Billion Mega Investment

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the total investment value of the facility is $3 billion.

Erdoğan described the project as “a strategic step that will increase high-tech production capacity,” emphasising that it will contribute to Türkiye’s defence independence goals.

“The Largest Defence Investment in the History of the Republic”

Murat İkinci described the project—covering a warhead facility to be established in Kırıkkale, missile integration centres, and fuel production facilities—as “the largest defence industry investment in the history of the Republic.”

The new facilities are expected to significantly shorten delivery times by increasing mass production capacity.

Wide Range of Domestic Missile Systems

Among the domestic systems delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces at the ceremony:

  • Tayfun missile
  • Siper air defence system
  • HİSAR-A
  • HİSAR-O
  • Sungur missile
  • Çakır cruise missile
  • SOM missile
  • MAM-L munition stood out.

These systems are expected to contribute to Türkiye’s multi-layered air defence architecture.

Exports and International Partnerships

Roketsan is focusing not only on the domestic market but also on exports. The company has:

  • Joint production agreements with Saudi Arabia
  • Technology transfer with Indonesia
  • Defence cooperation agreements with various countries

These agreements support Türkiye’s goal of becoming a global player in the defence industry.

Strategy Extending from Defence to Space

According to defence analysts, Roketsan’s investments are not limited to missile systems. Experts highlight that the company is also developing capabilities in space technologies and rocket systems in the long term.
