Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Istanbul and Antalya airports have recorded the highest daily passenger numbers in their history. This development, which once again highlights Türkiye’s strategic position in international aviation, has also drawn global attention.
On 26 July 2025, Antalya Airport set a new record by serving 225,118 passengers. Of these, 203,348 were international and 21,770 domestic. On the same day, 1,074 international and 143 domestic flights were carried out. With a total of 1,217 flights, the airport reached its peak in both passenger and aircraft traffic.
Istanbul Airport, on the following day, 27 July 2025, reached an all-time high with 272,132 passengers in a single day. Minister Uraloğlu noted that this figure also marks a historic daily record for any airport in Europe.
This growth in Türkiye’s air transport infrastructure, driven by the tourism season and the efficiency of airport operations, has paved the way for these record-breaking achievements.
