Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of three individuals following a helicopter crash off the coast of Bonny Finima in Nigeria. The search continues, with a total of 8 people onboard the helicopter.
The Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, leased by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and operated by East Wind Aviation, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near the southeastern city of Bonny Finima. While the bodies of three of the eight passengers have been recovered, search and rescue efforts are ongoing for the remaining passengers.
Local authorities and rescue teams quickly responded to initial reports of the helicopter crashing into the Atlantic. So far, they have retrieved three bodies and are conducting a large-scale search operation to find the five missing individuals. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with potential factors such as weather conditions and technical failure being considered.

Despite challenging waves and strong currents, rescue teams deployed to the area are striving to locate the missing passengers. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation confirmed that the helicopter was transporting personnel between oil fields and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss.
