Hatay Airport to Resume Operations in September: Pegasus Launches Flights to Istanbul and Cyprus
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the initial phase of restoration works at Hatay Airport, which was severely damaged in the 6 February earthquakes, is nearing completion. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the 2,720-metre auxiliary runway and the new apron with a 10-aircraft capacity will be operational in September.
With the reopening of the airport to flights, Pegasus Airlines also announced its new flight schedule. In a statement shared on its social media account, the airline said:
“Our direct flights to Hatay will resume on 1 September. You can fly directly from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Northern Cyprus to Hatay.”

4 weekly flights on the Northern Cyprus – Hatay route
With the announcements from the Ministry and Pegasus, Hatay Airport is once again becoming an important transportation hub for the region’s residents and business community.
