It has emerged that SunExpress has implemented a notable change in its Scotland operations. While Glasgow departures were removed from the system, a capacity decline on the Edinburgh route also drew attention.
It is claimed that the Turkish-German joint venture airline SunExpress has carried out a critical revision in its United Kingdom operations. New data appearing in reservation systems showed that the company made significant changes to its flight planning in Scotland. In particular, the removal of all Glasgow departures from sale became one of the developments attracting attention in the aviation sector.
According to the data available in the system, SunExpress decided to halt all Glasgow-based operations as of June 9, 2026. While flights on the Antalya route were seen to be completely removed, Dalaman services were reportedly withdrawn from the schedule following operations on June 6 and June 9.
This development also led to interpretations that the company has entered a new transformation process in its United Kingdom market strategy.
Glasgow Operations Withdrawn from the System
The changes seen on reservation screens revealed that SunExpress quietly closed its Glasgow departures. The changes, particularly on the Antalya and Dalaman routes that see high demand during the summer season, have started to be closely monitored in the tourism and aviation sectors.
While the airline has not made an official statement regarding the issue, the complete removal of the flights from sales screens strengthened claims of an operational revision.
Antalya Route Completely Closed
According to the data, all flights on the Glasgow-Antalya route were removed from the system. Dalaman operations, meanwhile, appear set to end after the final flights scheduled for the first week of June.

SunExpress’ only change in Scotland was not limited to Glasgow. It was also stated that capacity reductions were implemented in Edinburgh operations.
According to reservation data, the previously planned weekly 10-frequency operation on the Edinburgh-Antalya route during September and October was reduced to 7 flights. The Edinburgh-Dalaman route, meanwhile, is expected to continue with 4 weekly frequencies during the same period.
This decision is believed to have been made particularly within the scope of end-of-season demand optimization and operational cost management.
