Fugitive Yavuz Çizmeci Caught at Istanbul Airport

After the crash in Isparta in 2007 involving an aircraft belonging to World Focus Air Transportation Inc., one of the partners, Yavuz Çizmeci, fled after serving a confirmed sentence of 11 years and 8 months in prison. However, Çizmeci was caught with a fake identity 17 years later at Istanbul Airport.

It is alleged that Çizmeci chose this path to avoid going to prison for his long confirmed sentence.

A person displaying suspicious behavior at Istanbul Airport caught the attention of the police. The police searched and frisked the individual. Subsequently, during identity check, a fake ID issued under the name Ibrahim Özkan was found. However, when the police became suspicious of the photo on the ID, they decided to conduct a fingerprint check.

As a result of the fingerprint check, it was determined that the person’s real identity was Yavuz Çizmeci.

Çizmeci, due to his confirmed sentence for causing death and injury by negligence, was sent to prison after the completion of the procedures.

Yavuz Çizmeci was also known as the founder of the aircraft maintenance-repair company myTECHNIC.
