Final Report Released: Human Error Determined in E195 Belgrade Incident

The Serbian Civil Aviation Authorities have released the final report on last year’s incident in Belgrade involving an Embraer 195 passenger aircraft. The report revealed that the crew endangered safety due to an incorrect runway selection, insufficient take-off distance, and cockpit pressure.

According to the investigation, the aircraft required 1,440 metres for a safe take-off but attempted to depart from a runway of only 1,273 metres. Despite warnings, the captain’s insistence on proceeding confirmed that the near-disaster was caused by human error.

Authorities stressed that the report once again highlighted the critical importance of crew resource management (CRM) and cockpit authority balance for aviation safety.
