Freebird Airlines, one of Turkey’s leading carriers, has taken a significant step to digitize and optimize its aircraft maintenance operations. The airline has chosen Collins Aerospace to provide a groundbreaking software solution for its A320 fleet.
As part of this initiative, Freebird Airlines will implement Collins Aerospace’s cloud-based data management and analytics platform, Ascentia. This platform aims to analyze maintenance data to predict and reduce incidents, thereby lowering maintenance costs and enhancing the passenger experience.
Freebird Airlines Maintenance Director Kerem Güngörmez described this collaboration as a pivotal advancement for the company’s maintenance operations. Güngörmez stated, “Our partnership with Collins Aerospace will boost our efficiency in maintenance operations and reduce our engineering costs. It will also enhance our ability to predict and prevent ground incidents.” These improvements are expected to enable Freebird to offer more reliable and cost-effective services to its passengers.
Nicole White, Vice President of Business Development for Connected Aviation Solutions at Collins Aerospace, remarked, “Our software solutions allow Freebird to digitally transform its operations using data-driven insights to ensure high levels of operational availability for its fleet. Freebird Airlines currently utilizes solutions like OpsCore for flight tracking, Arinc Hermes for smart ACARS message management, and GlobalinkSM for communication services. The integration of Ascentia with these solutions marks a new era in maintenance and operational efficiency.
Founded in 2000, Freebird operates internationally with a fleet of 14 Airbus A320s, with registrations in both Turkey and Malta. This strategic partnership will accelerate the digitalization of Freebird’s maintenance operations, boosting fleet efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
