Freebird Airlines has signed a wet lease agreement with India’s largest airline, IndiGo, for 5 Airbus A320 aircraft. The first aircraft flew from Antalya to India.

Freebird Airlines Makes a Strong Entry into the Indian Market

Freebird Airlines, one of the key players in the Turkish aviation sector, has concluded a wet lease agreement (including aircraft, cockpit and cabin crews) covering 5 Airbus A320 aircraft with India’s largest airline, IndiGo, as part of its growth strategy carried out under the umbrella of Gözen Holding.

With a fleet of 14 aircraft, Freebird Airlines has further expanded its operations in the international market through this agreement.

First Aircraft Flew from Antalya to India

Under the agreement, the Airbus A320 aircraft registered TC-FHN departed from Antalya to India at 19:30. The remaining 4 aircraft are planned to be sent to India in the coming days.

The A320 aircraft in the Freebird fleet will operate domestic flights in India on behalf of IndiGo, based in Bengaluru.

The registrations of the Freebird Airlines Airbus A320 aircraft that will fly for IndiGo under the wet lease agreement are as follows:
