The French Ministry of Defense has announced that the first kamikaze drones, planned for delivery to Ukraine in the coming weeks, have successfully passed their initial tests.
French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated, “I am pleased to announce the successful testing of remotely operated munitions, also known as kamikaze drones, produced by France. In a critical area for our armed forces, we have regained our sovereignty in just two years. Deliveries to Ukraine and our own forces will begin in the coming weeks,” he said.
Role and Strategy of Kamikaze Drones
The development of these drones is seen as a key part of France’s strategy to enhance its military capabilities and support Ukraine’s defense against Russian attacks. Officially termed “loitering munitions,” kamikaze drones are designed to target specific threats with high precision while minimizing risks to operators.
This move by France is significant in terms of strengthening international military cooperation and influencing regional security dynamics. The kamikaze drones are expected to bolster Ukraine’s resilience and showcase France’s military capabilities.
