Türkiye’s indigenous and national jet trainer aircraft, HÜRJET, achieved a first in Turkish aviation history together with the Turkish Stars. Two HÜRJET aircraft and eight Turkish Stars aircraft performed the first-ever 10-aircraft formation flight over Mürted Air Base Command.
HÜRJET, one of Türkiye’s most important aviation industry projects, achieved a historic milestone through a special demonstration flight conducted alongside the Turkish Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Turkish Stars. Taking off from Mürted Air Base Command, two HÜRJET aircraft joined the Turkish Stars’ eight-aircraft formation, completing the first-ever 10-aircraft formation flight in Turkish aviation history.
HÜRJET and the Turkish Stars Flew in the Same Formation
Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), HÜRJET created a remarkable formation in the sky together with the Turkish Stars during the demonstration flight. Two HÜRJET aircraft departed from Mürted Air Base Command and joined the Turkish Stars’ eight-aircraft formation, resulting in a historic flight involving a total of 10 aircraft.
The precision formation flying and aerobatic maneuvers performed during the demonstration were followed with great interest by participants. The synchronized movements and highly precise formations displayed during the flight received widespread admiration.
A First in Turkish Aviation History
The 10-aircraft formation flight, conducted with two HÜRJET aircraft accompanying the Turkish Stars’ eight-aircraft formation for the first time, was recorded as a new milestone in Turkish aviation history.
The fact that HÜRJET, developed with indigenous and national capabilities, flew in the same formation as the Turkish Stars—one of the Turkish Air Force’s most prominent demonstration elements—also showcased the technical and operational level the platform has reached.
They Saluted with an Elephant Walk
Following the demonstration flight, the HÜRJETs and Turkish Stars aircraft saluted participants with an “elephant walk” conducted at Mürted Air Base Command.
This special display, in which the aircraft moved simultaneously, attracted considerable attention from attendees and became one of the most memorable moments of the event.
