A Turkish Airlines (THY) flight, numbered TK-1979, traveling from Istanbul to London, performed a go-around just 12 meters from touchdown at Heathrow Airport following instructions from the control tower. The plane, which caused moments of concern among passengers, successfully landed on its second attempt.

The Boeing 777, operating as flight TK-1979, departed from Istanbul Airport at 08:54. While approaching London Heathrow Airport for landing, the aircraft received a “go-around” instruction from the tower and ascended again. The plane’s maneuver to abort landing at a distance as close as 12 meters from the runway caused concern among passengers.

Having completed the go-around maneuver without issue, the plane landed safely at Heathrow Airport on its second attempt.
