EVA Air Opens Washington, D.C., Route to Thailand

EVA Air is adding Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to its North American network with a new four-times-weekly service to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), launched on June 26, 2026. The route strengthens air connectivity between the United States and Thailand, giving your clients in the Washington, D.C., metro area and surrounding markets easier access to Bangkok and key destinations throughout the Kingdom via onward connections from Taoyuan.

The service operates on a 278-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with a flight time of approximately 15 to 16 hours between the two airports. Three cabin categories are available: Royal Laurel Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand New York Office welcomes the new service as a significant step toward strengthening U.S.-Thailand air connectivity. “Improved air connectivity plays an important role in making Thailand more accessible to travelers from North America,” said Chompu Marusachot, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand New York Office, in a press statement. “We are delighted to see additional travel options from the Washington, D.C. region and look forward to welcoming even more visitors to discover Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural beauty, and meaningful travel experiences across the Kingdom.”

The launch comes amid continued strong North American demand for Thailand, one of Asia’s leading leisure and wellness destinations known for its hospitality and cultural offerings. The country’s range of experiences—from Bangkok and the beaches of southern Thailand to mountain destinations and wellness retreats in the north—covers a broad spectrum of client interests, whether the focus is beach travel, cultural exploration or wellness.

Washington, D.C., becomes EVA Air’s 10th North American gateway, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Vancouver and Toronto. Through partnerships with major North American carriers, clients from across the United States and Canada who are not based in one of those gateway cities can connect into EVA Air’s network and continue onward to Thailand, which broadens the airline’s effective reach across the continent.
