According to data from the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport has once again become Europe’s busiest airport, recording an average of 1,556 daily flights. This success, which supports Türkiye’s rise in international aviation, continues to position the country as a regional air traffic hub.

EUROCONTROL data also show that Antalya Airport ranked 9th among Europe’s busiest airports, with 957 daily flights. Across Türkiye, an average of 3,841 daily flights were recorded, making the country the 6th busiest in Europe in terms of air traffic.

Globally, Istanbul Airport ranked 7th among 25 major airports, with an average of 790 daily departures.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the following remarks were made:

“Our goal is to further increase this number and make our country a hub for both regional and global aviation. With our modern airports and strategic investments, we will continue to strengthen Türkiye’s position as a leading nation in transport and aviation.”
