Emirates Airlines has invested $48 million in pilot and cabin crew training ahead of integrating Airbus A350 aircraft into its fleet. This investment includes state-of-the-art training suites featuring three full flight simulators, a fixed-base training device, a cabin emergency evacuation trainer, and a door trainer, all equipped with innovative technologies and systems.
Notably, Emirates has developed the industry-first Pilot Support System (PSS), which optimizes the training experience. Conceptualized entirely in-house, PSS enables trainees to create flight plans and set up an interactive flight deck. Additionally, it allows the training process to be recorded, giving instructors the ability to analyze crew performance.
Full Simulation Certification
Emirates’ A350 flight simulator has been awarded the highest Level D qualification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The airline expects its second A350 simulator to be certified by November.
Expansion Goals in Pilot Training
Emirates is preparing to open a new pilot training facility equipped with six full flight simulators for the A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft. The new center aims to increase pilot training capacity by 54% and offer 130,000 hours of training annually.
Additionally, with orders for 65 A350s and 205 Boeing 777X aircraft, Emirates is gearing up to support its future growth and fleet expansion plans.
