easyJet Aircraft Declares Emergency Shortly After Departing Lyon
An Airbus A320 operated by easyJet on a flight from Lyon, France, to Porto declared an emergency shortly after takeoff.
Flight U24429 departed Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport from runway 35L at 18:34 CEST, with a one-hour delay. During the flight to Porto, approximately at 20,000 feet, the crew declared the international emergency code 7700 due to a passenger incident on board.
Following the emergency call, the Airbus A320 (registration OE-IJL) halted its climb and returned safely to Lyon about 45 minutes after departure, landing on runway 35R.
Airline officials have not yet provided detailed information about the incident, but an update on the passengers’ health is expected shortly.
