National Aviation Industry Workshop Started
The “3rd National Aviation Industry Workshop,” organised within the scope of SAHA MİHENK activities carried out under the clustering support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and coordinated by SAHA Istanbul, brought together the main stakeholders of the sector.
The workshop, held at the ASELSAN ÇELİKKUBBE Event Hall, was organised with the aim of increasing domestic and national production capabilities, accelerating companies’ integration into national and international supply chains, and enhancing sustainable competitiveness.
“Türkiye Is Now a Country That Is Being Followed”
In his opening speech, Ahmet Akyol drew attention to the point the sector has reached and stated that Türkiye has left behind a strong year in the defence industry.
Akyol used the following expressions:
“Türkiye has now become a country that is being followed in aviation. Quality and customer satisfaction will be essential to sustain aviation successes. We are here together as Türkiye’s national aviation team.”
Emphasising that Türkiye is among the limited number of countries capable of developing a 5th-generation fighter aircraft, Akyol reminded that Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully carried out an air-to-air firing.
2 Billion Dollars in Exports, 4 Billion Dollars in SME Orders
Providing clear messages regarding ASELSAN’s 2026 targets, Akyol announced that they aim for 2 billion dollars in exports this year.
He also stated that the total order volume to be given to the SME ecosystem will reach 4 billion dollars and expressed that strengthening the supply chain in the defence and aviation industry is of strategic importance.
“Unity in Quality, Strength in Competition”
The emphasis on “Unity in Quality, Strength in Competition,” the main theme of the workshop, forms the basis of Türkiye’s sustainable growth strategy in the aviation and defence industry.
The organisation, attended by sector representatives, public institutions, and industrial organisations, became a critical platform for strengthening Türkiye’s national aviation vision and reinforcing its competitive position on a global scale.
