Chaotic Dubai-Istanbul Flight
A drunken passenger caused a disturbance on a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight from Dubai to Istanbul. The passenger, identified as A.Ö., who was seated in Business Class, consumed excessive alcohol, disrupting other passengers and the cabin crew. Responding to a warning from another passenger, A.Ö. hurled insults and threats, declaring, “I am a billionaire. I will buy Turkey. Who do you think you are?”
Swift Action by Cabin Crew
Tensions escalated when the cabin crew decided to cut off A.Ö.’s alcohol service. Continuing to disturb others, he became even more aggressive after the passenger next to him requested to change seats. The cabin crew intervened and, unable to control him, restrained A.Ö. with handcuffs. Upon the flight’s arrival at Istanbul Airport, the passenger was handed over to the police.

The incident was captured by other passengers on their mobile phones. Videos show A.Ö. threatening another passenger and exclaiming, “Do you know who I am? I am a billionaire. Come here, who are you?” The recordings also reveal the cabin crew’s efforts to calm the situation.
Official Statement from Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün addressed the incident in a social media post. Üstün stated:
“On today’s Dubai-Istanbul flight, a passenger who caused a commotion under the influence of alcohol verbally attacked our cabin crew and other passengers. The passenger was restrained and handed over to law enforcement at the end of the flight. They have been blacklisted.”
