Corendon Airlines, known for its innovative steps and pioneering achievements in the aviation sector, met with members of the Istanbul Airports Correspondents Association on December 17, 2024. During the meeting, attended by Corendon Airlines COO Atılay Batu, significant achievements and data for 2024 were shared.

2024 Highlights of Success
Continuing its growth with 20 years of industry experience, Corendon Airlines has become an international airline operating with a fleet of 32 aircraft, flying to 165 destinations across 65 countries, and carrying an average of 6 million passengers annually.
During the meeting, Atılay Batu evaluated their 2024 operations, stating:
“We transported 6 million passengers from various European countries to popular tourist destinations like Turkey, Spain, Greece, Morocco, and Egypt. By focusing on expanding our flight network and schedule, we achieved an impressive occupancy rate of 86.20%.”

Antalya Tops the Chart, Düsseldorf Leads the Routes
According to the 2024 data:
- Antalya emerged as the most popular destination for Corendon Airlines.
- Heraklion-Crete ranked second, followed by Hurghada-Egypt in third place.
- The busiest routes included Düsseldorf-Antalya, Cologne-Antalya, and Hanover-Antalya.
- Routes with the highest occupancy rates were Düsseldorf-Rhodes, Stuttgart-Gazipaşa, Cologne-Dalaman, Cologne-Gazipaşa, and Hanover-Rhodes.
A Model of Carbon Emission Reduction
Corendon Airlines took major steps toward sustainable aviation by reducing per-passenger carbon emissions in 2024. Through the program launched in partnership with cOmmited.app, a Fibabanka subsidiary, passengers were given the opportunity to offset travel-related carbon emissions.
Atılay Batu also highlighted other sustainability efforts:
- SAF Fuel Usage: In March 2024, they began using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%.
- International Awards: Ranked 4th globally and 1st in Turkey in the “World’s Cleanest Airlines” study conducted by Atmosfair.
- New Technologies: Maintained their position as Turkey’s first airline to operate Boeing’s MAX 8 model aircraft.

Fascinating Stats: Highlights of 2024
- Oldest Passenger: 97 years old.
- Youngest Passenger: A 21-day-old baby.
- Longest Flight Route: Amsterdam-Bonaire, 13 hours and 20 minutes.
- Shortest Flight Route: Bucharest Henri Coanda-Gazipaşa-Alanya, 2 hours.
- Record for Heaviest Luggage: 983 kg total, consisting of 56 pieces carried by 28 passengers.
- Most Popular Seat: Seat “30A” was the top choice among frequent flyers. The most purchased seat number was “2A.”
One loyal passenger stood out for flying the most in 2024, with a total flight time of 83 hours.
