China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) announced that it has signed a firm order agreement with Airbus for 30 A320neo Family aircraft in order to meet strong demand from its global customer base.
This new agreement marks the fifth order placed by CALC with Airbus, increasing the company’s total Airbus orders to date to 282 aircraft. Of these orders, 203 consist of A320neo Family aircraft.
CALC Executive Director and CEO Mike Poon, commenting on the agreement, emphasised that the long-standing cooperation with Airbus plays a key role in the company’s growth strategy. Poon stated: “Our ongoing partnership with Airbus has played a central role in CALC’s growth. This latest order reflects our shared vision for innovation and sustainable aviation. We are proud to continue growing alongside Airbus and to keep providing modern and high-value aircraft solutions to our airline customers worldwide.”
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus Commercial Aircraft, highlighted that CALC has been a strategic partner for Airbus for many years. Saint-Exupéry said: “CALC was one of our valued partners to place its first order back in 2012. Receiving another repeat order is a great pleasure for us. CALC’s deep understanding of market and customer demands serves as a strong reference for the A320neo Family. This agreement reinforces the company’s leadership in offering its customers the most efficient and in-demand single-aisle aircraft.”
With more than 19,000 orders worldwide, the A320 Family continues to be the most popular single-aisle aircraft programme. The family, with its largest member the A321neo, offers superior range and performance, while delivering at least 20% fuel savings and CO₂ emissions reduction compared to previous-generation aircraft. It also enhances passenger comfort with one of the widest single-aisle cabins in its class.
Like all Airbus aircraft, the A320 Family is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The company aims to make all of its aircraft 100% SAF-compatible by 2030.
