A cargo plane veered off the runway and struck a fence while landing at Aminggaru Airport in Central Papua, Indonesia. The pilot and technician sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Skidded Off Runway, Hit Fence

The incident occurred on Monday morning at the remote Aminggaru Airport in Puncak Regency. A Cessna Grand Caravan operated by Amole Air successfully landed but then skidded off the runway, crashing into a fence post. The aircraft briefly caught fire after the accident, but the flames were quickly brought under control.

Crew Escaped with Minor Injuries

Puncak Police Chief Mardi Marpaung confirmed the crash, stating that the aircraft had departed from Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika carrying light steel materials for construction.

Crew members, pilot Andi Rezhar and technician Amianus, managed to escape after the aircraft caught fire. Both sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

No Passengers on Board

Authorities confirmed the plane was carrying only cargo, with no passengers on board. Police announced that the cause of the crash is under investigation and technical inspections have begun.
