The picturesque region of Cappadocia, located in Central Anatolia and recognized for its unique fairy chimneys, has seen a steep hike in charges for commercial filming and photography. The increase in fees has been detailed in the ‘Regulation on Changes to the Procedures and Principles Regarding Applications Subject to Fees and Services to be Provided in Return for Fees in 2024’ published by the Cappadocia Area Presidency.
Increased Rates for Commercial Filming and Photography
Under the new regulations, the expense for a day-long commercial film or video shoot has shot up to 14,270 Turkish Liras (equivalent to around $472), while the cost for a one-second advertisement shoot has skyrocketed to 40,773 liras (approximately $1,350). The daily rates for commercial photography have been established at 815 liras, with monthly and annual fees now standing at 12,232 liras and 109,377 liras, correspondingly.
New Fees for Tourism Operators
Alongside these revisions, tourism operators who conduct sports activities aimed at attracting tourists will now face a new fee of 24,056 liras for each permit application. Furthermore, obtaining qualification certificates for tourism operators will now be priced at 19,245 liras per certificate.
