Panic broke out on a Turkish Airlines flight preparing to operate from Istanbul to Batman when a passenger said, “It’s as if I have a bomb on me.” The joking passenger was removed from the plane, and after security checks, the flight was carried out smoothly.

Panic broke out on a Turkish Airlines aircraft preparing to operate the Istanbul–Batman flight when a passenger said, “It’s as if I have a bomb on me.” The passenger was removed from the plane following intervention by the crew, and the flight was carried out without delay.

A “bomb joke” made before take-off on a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight from Istanbul to Batman caused brief panic. The incident occurred in the morning hours at Istanbul Airport.

According to information obtained, after passenger boarding had been completed, one of the passengers on board joked to those around him, saying, “It’s as if I have a bomb on me.” The cabin crew immediately informed the captain about the situation.

Following the captain’s instructions, police teams were called to the aircraft. In line with safety procedures, the passenger was removed from the plane, and an “unruly passenger” report was filed against him.

After the passenger was taken off the aircraft, the necessary security checks were carried out. As no threat was detected, the plane took off from Istanbul Airport with a short delay and completed its scheduled flight to Batman.

Airport authorities warned passengers not to make jokes about “bombs” or security issues, noting that such remarks trigger serious security procedures.
