Boeing to Deliver 44,000 New Aircraft by 2043

Despite grappling with fatal accidents and challenges, Boeing foresees significant growth in the commercial aircraft market over the next 20 years. The company plans to deliver 50,000 new commercial airplanes during this period.

Darren Hulst, Vice President of Marketing for Boeing’s Commercial Aviation division, stated, “The balance between replacement and growth is very close, about 50-50.” From 2023 to 2043, approximately 44,000 new aircraft are expected to be delivered. Over 33,000 of these are projected to be single-aisle planes, while 8,000 will be twin-aisle.

Currently, less than one-third of the 26,750 aircraft in service are expected to still be operational in 20 years. Passenger air traffic is anticipated to increase at an average annual rate of 4.7%, and aircraft fleets are expected to grow by 3.2%.
