BizJet International, a leading engine maintenance service provider in the United States and a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has officially rebranded as Lufthansa Technik Engine Services (LTES).
Founded in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, BizJet quickly gained recognition as a reliable provider in the corporate aviation sector. Its integration into the Lufthansa Technik Group in 2000 significantly expanded its capabilities and integrated it into a global service network. In 2004, BizJet marked a significant milestone by upgrading its facility to support Rolls-Royce engine lines. The addition of fully digital test cells for the Tay 611-8 and -8C engines used in Gulfstream IV and 450 aircraft made the company a key player in Tay engine services.
Mobile Engine Services and New Capabilities
In 2016, BizJet became part of Lufthansa Technik’s Mobile Engine Services (MES) network, expanding its services to include maintenance for commercial aircraft engines. The Mobile Engine Services network helps minimize downtime by providing on-site engine maintenance and repair solutions. The Tulsa facility is equipped to repair and test engines such as V2500, CFM56-5B, and CFM56-7B, further enhancing the company’s technical capabilities.
New Management
Michael Scheferhoff has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Lufthansa Technik Engine Services. “We have achieved a lot with over 650 complete engine overhauls and more than 600 Mobile Engine Services events, but there is still more to do,” said Scheferhoff. He emphasized the goal of leveraging the strength of the Lufthansa Technik brand to strengthen their presence in both corporate and commercial engine service markets and solidify their objectives. He also highlighted the need to expand the Tulsa facility to increase market share in the United States.
New CEO Michael Scheferhoff took over on October 1, 2024, succeeding Thomas Illner, who served as General Manager and Head of Americas Operations at Lufthansa Technik Component Services. This rebranding aims to enhance Lufthansa Technik’s position within the global engine maintenance service network while also improving the quality and scope of services offered to customers.
