At the opening ceremony organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), progress toward the goal of zero-fatality accidents in international aviation was celebrated. A total of 14 countries were recognized for their advancements in aviation safety and security.
Safety Improvements Recognized
ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano presented certificates to countries that have taken significant steps in aviation safety. Albania, Azerbaijan, Botswana, India, Morocco, Oman, and Senegal were awarded for improvements in their safety systems.
Continuous Progress in Security Systems
Meanwhile, Angola, Bahrain, Cameroon, Indonesia, Kuwait, Moldova, and Togo received certificates for enhancing their aviation security oversight systems and demonstrating commitment to implementing ICAO standards.
Global Goal: Zero Accidents
ICAO officials emphasized that these certificates represent not only past achievements but also commitments to the future of global aviation safety. The awards aim to support countries’ progress in establishing effective aviation safety and security oversight systems.
