Cruise Whitsundays has reopened Reefworld, its pontoon permanently moored at Hardy Reef on the outer Great Barrier Reef off the shores of Queensland, Australia, following an extensive renovation that shifts the property to an overnight-only model exclusively for Reefsleep and Reefsuite guests.
The all-inclusive stay includes premium dining and beverages, guided snorkeling with marine experts and hosted storytelling on the reef’s ecology and biodiversity. Your clients spend the day snorkeling and exploring the reef before retreating to their overnight accommodation.
Chris Tallent, CEO of Journey Beyond, says in a press statement that the launch marks a defining moment for the Great Barrier Reef, calling it one of the world’s most immersive overnight reef experiences and a reinforcement of Australia’s position as a leader in nature-based tourism. Tallent says Reefworld remains the country’s top unique accommodation, with every guest touchpoint designed for a deeper connection to the reef from sunrise to sunset. Highlights include a chef-led three-course dinner paired with Australian wines.
Guests stay in one of 16 four-poster Reefbeds with privacy screens as part of the redesigned Reefsleep accommodation, or in the underwater Reefsuite rooms, both with dedicated dining, lounge and relaxation spaces. A dedicated host and activity concierge is available on deck throughout the stay.
The stay also includes a scenic cruise through the Whitsunday Islands with priority boarding, a seafood buffet lunch on arrival, sunset cocktails and canapes, a buffet breakfast with barista coffee and a farewell two-course shared platter lunch. Guided snorkeling includes wetsuits and stinger suits, and guests have access to an aqua pool with a stinger net, an underwater observatory and a semi-submarine tour. Scuba diving and scenic helicopter flights are available at an additional cost.
Starting in 2027, a new 118-foot catamaran will join the Cruise Whitsundays fleet, offering indoor and outdoor seating, an open-air upper deck and a section reserved exclusively for Reefworld guests. Reservations are now open.
