Turkey’s youngest airline, AJet, has received its first Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft as part of its vision to modernize and expand its fleet. The aircraft, registered TC-OHA, landed at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport after a 12 hour and 30-minute journey following test flights and technical acceptance completed in the USA.
The plane will undergo a standardization process based on operational requirements in Istanbul and will be equipped with domestically produced Minigram seats. After cabin modernization, it will begin scheduled flights in September 2025.
AJet will add two more Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to its fleet in August. A total of 45 next-generation Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft will join the fleet between 2025 and 2027.

Kerem Sarp, General Manager of AJet, spoke about the addition of the Boeing 737-8 MAX to the AJet fleet. He said, “Our fleet investments are shaped by our goals to increase passenger satisfaction and achieve sustainable operations. With Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, we are lowering the average age of our fleet while improving fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The new generation aircraft that start joining our fleet in 2025 will continue arriving throughout the year. By summer 2026, our fleet will largely consist of next-generation planes.”
