New Turkish Airlines Routes to Ankara: Flights to Tbilisi, Madrid, and Barcelona Begin with AJet

Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, announced that Ankara continues to expand its international flight network.

Ankara – Tbilisi Flights Commence

Starting October 1, AJet will launch Ankara – Tbilisi flights with four weekly frequencies. Bolat, who confirmed that ticket sales have begun, stated, “We are connecting our capital to the world. We are adding a new link to the air bridge from Ankara to global cities.”

With this route, Ankara will have direct connections to 31 cities across 24 countries.

Madrid and Barcelona Flights on the Way

Flights to Madrid and Barcelona, set to begin at the end of October, will connect Ankara to 25 countries and 33 cities. In addition, work continues on routes to Brussels, Milan, and Rome.

Bolat also called on business and tourism organisations, saying, “We expect our chambers of industry and commerce and tourism organisations to assist us in lobbying and engage with the relevant authorities.”

Introducing the Ankara+ (Plus) Project

Turkish Airlines is not only launching new routes but also implementing the “Ankara+ (Plus) Project” to help Ankara reach its deserved place in tourism.

The project aims to:

  • Encourage visitors to spend their first two days in Ankara and the following days in Cappadocia, Konya, and surrounding provinces.

  • Offer experiences focused on gastronomy, health tourism, culture, and nature.

  • Promote the city through press trips and social media campaigns.

Bolat said, “Every bridge we build in the sky is a door to the future. The steps we are taking for Tbilisi, Madrid, and Barcelona are a strong indication of our goal to connect Ankara to the world.”

Ankara’s Regional Role Strengthens

As the airline offering flights from Ankara to the largest number of countries and cities, Turkish Airlines aims to position the capital as a rising regional hub.
