Airlines Roll Out New Routes For Upcoming Season

Airline route maps keep expanding, with new nonstop and seasonal service opening more direct paths between U.S. cities and destinations across Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.

Alaska Airlines, Seattle to Athens and Paris

Alaska Airlines will begin nonstop service between Seattle and both Athens and Paris next spring, adding two new stops to its growing lineup of international routes out of the Pacific Northwest.

Tickets for Athens International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport are already on sale. Introductory round-trip Main Cabin fares start at $999 and are available for purchase in the U.S. through Aug. 26.

The Seattle-Athens service, flight AS196, begins May 12, 2027 and operates three times a week. It will be Alaska’s longest route and the West Coast’s only nonstop option to Athens. Seattle-Paris service, flight AS136, begins May 25, 2027, with nonstop flights five times a week through the fall.

Both routes will fly on Alaska’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring lie-flat Suites in international business class with multi-course dining and amenities from West Coast brands Filson and Salt & Stone. Atmos Rewards members will have access to complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi as the technology rolls out across the Alaska and Hawaiian fleets through 2027. The expanded network also allows same-day connections between Honolulu and Paris through Seattle.

Athens and Paris join Alaska’s existing intercontinental routes from Seattle to Iceland, London, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo. The airline has said it plans to add at least five more intercontinental destinations by 2030.

Delta Air Lines: Austin to Paris

Delta Air Lines will launch Austin’s first nonstop service to Europe on March 27, 2027, connecting Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG). The route makes Delta the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service between Austin and Europe.

Flights will operate daily during the summer season on Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo, which features four cabin classes: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. Delta One includes fully lie-flat seats, bedding and privacy doors, along with multi-course meals and premium beverages. Delta Premium Select offers wider seats and added legroom, while Delta Comfort and Delta Main include memory-foam cushions and entertainment systems with more than 1,000 hours of content.

Beyond the nonstop route, the new service opens one-stop access to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa through Delta’s joint venture with Air France-KLM. At peak summer, Delta, Air France and KLM together will operate up to 10 weekly nonstop flights between Austin and Europe, serving both Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam. From Paris, travelers can connect onward across Europe, India and Africa on Air France. Delta’s partnership with Virgin Atlantic adds further connectivity beyond Europe.

BermudAir to South Caicos This Winter

BermudAir will launch the New York area’s first nonstop service to South Caicos this winter, cutting travel time from Newark to 3.5 hours. The airline bills itself as the leading premium leisure airline to Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Service begins on Dec. 20, 2026 and operates twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays through April 25, 2027. It will be the only nonstop route to South Caicos from the New York area. Fares start at $347 one-way or $773 round-trip and are already on sale.

The route gives travelers direct access to Salterra, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, which was recently ranked the top resort in the Turks and Caicos. The property covers 85 beachfront acres with a 3,000-foot private white-sand beach on an island still known for its salinas, bonefishing flats and uninhabited cays. Guests land at South Caicos International Airport (XSC) and reach the resort in about 10 minutes.

Next month, BermudAir Holidays, the airline’s vacation-packaging division, will begin offering bundled South Caicos packages that combine flights, hotels and island experiences with added perks.

The South Caicos launch follows BermudAir’s previously announced expansion into Providenciales, with seven new routes starting in December, except Fort Lauderdale, which begins October 26.
