Air Anka Expands to the U.S.: FAA Process Launched for Nigeria-Origin New York Flights

Air Anka has initiated the FAA process for U.S. flights originating from Nigeria. The aircraft will operate on the Lagos–New York route under a wet-lease model.

Air Anka has initiated the FAA accreditation process to use one aircraft from its fleet in Nigeria-based operations under a wet-lease model. The aircraft will serve the Lagos–New York route.

Turkish airline Air Anka has taken an important step to expand its international operations network. Last week, Air Anka initiated the required accreditation process with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other relevant authorities to operate one aircraft from its fleet on Nigeria-origin United States flights under a crewed leasing (wet-lease) model.

Aircraft to First Operate in Umrah Operations

According to obtained information, before being transferred to Nigeria, the aircraft will serve in Umrah operations of Saudi Arabia-based Flyadeal. Following this process, it will be positioned in Nigeria in mid-July and will begin operating within the United Nigeria Airlines fleet.

According to the planning, the aircraft will operate flights to the United States departing from Lagos, and in the first phase operations are expected to start on the Lagos–New York route.
