The Antalya Branch of the Turkish Air Association (THK) will host the ‘International Antalya Turkey Fly 2 Troy Festival,’ which will be organized for the first time in Turkey. The event will take place at the Karain Airfield on May 19th, commemorating Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
International Participation at the Festival
As part of the festival, 18 private jet owners from 6 countries will be welcomed at the THK Karain Aviation Training Center on May 18th, and they will contribute to the festival with various air shows and activities on May 19th. Throughout the event, UNESCO heritage sites in Turkey will be visited, and the festival will last a total of 16 days.
Aiming to Instill Love for Aviation in Youth
Nazif Eken, the President of THK Antalya Branch, shared details of the festival, stating that the event aims to reconnect the Turkish Air Association with the public and to foster a love for aviation among youth. Eken said, “We will organize a festival at the Karain Aviation Center on May 19th. The routes will last for 16 days, visiting tourism centers such as Çanakkale, Şanlıurfa, Adana, and Antalya.”
Young Wings Will Meet the Sky
As part of the festival, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of National Education, 50 young students from various schools in Antalya will be flown in airplanes. Additionally, there will be jet aircraft shows and aerobatic displays. The event will also feature music performances by artists from the Antalya State Opera and Ballet.
Event Route
The flight route for the festival will be as follows: Çanakkale, Selçuk (Ephesus), Antalya (Karain), Adana (Kelaynak), Şanlıurfa (Göbeklitepe, Zeugma), Adıyaman (Mount Nemrut), Trabzon (Sumela Monastery), Nevşehir (Cappadocia), Eskişehir (Sushm- Airport Museum), and Istanbul (Golden Horn).
