Istanbul Airport Deploys Therapy Dogs to Support Passengers

Istanbul Airport, renowned as one of the world’s largest and busiest air transportation hubs, serving millions of passengers daily, has introduced a heartwarming solution to alleviate the potential stresses of air travel. Recognizing that the flying experience may not be easy for everyone, especially those grappling with flight anxiety or concerns, Istanbul Airport has enlisted the assistance of five new dedicated workers in its bustling corridors: therapy dogs. These specially trained dogs roam the airport corridors to provide support and comfort to anxious passengers.

As a pet-friendly airport, Istanbul Airport has embarked on this new pilot project utilizing certified therapy dogs that are professionally trained and conditioned to soothe individuals to reduce stress and anxiety among passengers.

These dogs have undergone months of rigorous preparation and intensive training to desensitize them to distracting stimuli such as noise and human activity. Among the adorable members of the canine therapy team serving since February are Kuki and Alita, as captured by the Associated Press.

Officials at Istanbul Airport note that the presence of therapy dogs has had a positive impact on passengers, creating a more relaxed and pleasant atmosphere within the airport.
