A leading online travel platform in Turkey has released travel data for the first half of 2024, revealing that the most expensive one-way international flight ticket was sold for 299,177 lira on the Istanbul-Paris route. Domestically, the most expensive one-way flight ticket was on the Istanbul-Antalya route, priced at 9,117 lira.

The report also analyzed preferred destinations based on age groups and months. Among domestic routes, the most preferred were Istanbul-Antalya, Izmir-Istanbul, and Adana-Istanbul. For international routes, Istanbul-Bangkok, Izmir-Tehran, and Izmir-Berlin were highlighted.
Most Expensive and Cheapest Flight Tickets
The most expensive round-trip international flight ticket in the first half of the year was sold for 243,060 lira on the Istanbul-Bangkok flight. The most expensive domestic round-trip ticket was recorded on the Istanbul-Dalaman route, priced at 15,327 lira. The cheapest domestic one-way flight ticket was 432 lira on the Istanbul-Izmir flight, and the cheapest domestic round-trip ticket was 1,043 lira on the Balikesir, Edremit-Istanbul route. For international flights, the cheapest one-way ticket was 642 lira on the Istanbul-Tehran route, and the cheapest round-trip ticket was 2,145 lira on the Istanbul-Bucharest flight.
Cheapest Flight Periods
The cheapest period for flight ticket prices was identified as January for international flights and March for domestic flights. In January, international one-way tickets were sold at an average price of 4,763 lira, and round-trip tickets at 8,209 lira. In March, domestic one-way tickets were sold at an average price of 1,370 lira, and round-trip tickets at 2,608 lira. In June, domestic ticket prices peaked, with one-way tickets averaging 2,000 lira and round-trip tickets averaging 3,813 lira.
Travel Preferences by Age Groups
Passengers over the age of 65 most frequently flew to Istanbul, Izmir, and Antalya domestically, and to Vienna, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf internationally. Students preferred traveling to Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir domestically, and to Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, and Frankfurt internationally. Couples favored flights to Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, and Bangkok internationally, and to Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir domestically. Families with children predominantly traveled to Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich internationally, and to Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir domestically.
