Rize, famous for its nature, continues to be a new destination for tourists coming from the Middle East. The first charter flight from Bahrain to Rize-Artvin Airport was welcomed with great enthusiasm. The aircraft, carrying 151 passengers, landed at the airport amidst a water arch.

A New Era Begins in Tourism

With the beginning of the summer season, tourist activity is increasing in Rize, the tourism paradise of the Black Sea region, and surrounding provinces. The Rize Governorship announced the start of these new charter flights. The aircraft carrying the first tourist group from Bahrain landed at Rize-Artvin Airport at 06:57 in the morning.

Two Flights per Week

Charter flights are planned to operate twice a week. In a statement by the Rize Governorship, it was stated, “As part of the charter flights planned twice a week from Middle Eastern countries, a THY plane departed from Bahrain and landed at Rize-Artvin Airport with 151 passengers and 4 crew members, thanks to the efforts of our Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş.”

Tourist Rush and Economic Contribution

Rize’s natural beauty aims to attract more tourists with the new flights from Bahrain. This increase is expected to make significant contributions to the regional economy. With the growing number of tourists, the revitalization of the local economy and an influx of foreign currency are anticipated.
